The shark fin is one of the most provocative forms in nature. Commonly associated with fear and looming death, my fin works attempt to highlight the beauty of these highly evolved appendages, while also discussing the threats human pose to shark populations.  It is estimated that over 70 million sharks are killed each year worldwide for their fins to make shark fin soup, an Asian delicacy.  This demand is driving the local extinction of a variety of shark species.
