SWELL LINES SERIES

Ethan’s lifelong connection to the ocean began when he started surfing at age 11 with his dad. He has nearly drowned and has experienced pure fear, ecstasy, and peace in the water. He’s a lifelong ocean addict and he surfs as often as he can. This love for the ocean drove him to study marine biology and later to express his ideas about the ocean through his artwork.

Ethan is constantly studying the waves, land, and sky to identify patterns that he can translate through his Swell Lines Series. He sees these pieces as aspirational because any surfer will tell you that all they want is to see perfect waves on the horizon or the view from inside a barrel. Living with these pieces is a daily reminder to get out there while your body still works and enjoy the ocean’s gifts.
