COASTLINES SERIES

The Coastlines Series is inspired by Ethan’s childhood excursions down the coast to Big Sur, as well as visits to the Na Pali coast and the backside of Molokai. Ethan is drawn to the dramatic beauty of steep mountains reaching the sea, and he loves to use staggered cliffsides to create a sense of depth. Standing on a high cliff watching a long interval swell greet a coastline is one of Ethan’s favorite natural phenomena, so he creates subtle bends in the swell lines to capture this effect.
